Bringing academia and industry together

EWENA is the ‘brain-child ‘of Professor Meriel Moore-Colyer and was proposed during the industry : academia workshop held at the 2022 European Workshop on Equine Nutrition in Cirencester UK. The workshop consisted of industry personnel and academics involved in equine nutrition research and it was unanimously agreed that a continual platform for knowledge exchange, networking, communication and event notification would be beneficial to bridge the 2-year gap between EWEN conferences. EWENA provides a continual stream of information on equine nutrition and fosters networking between industry, academics and students across Europe.During the 2022 conference the EWEN group formally ratified the idea of setting up EWENA, and in 2023 the first committee was formed and the EWENA constitution established.EWENA will have a phyical launch at the EWEN conference in Lisbon in July 2026

Research

Looking to undertake equine nutrition research? Within the EWENA community we can identify industry and academic specialists in different areas of nutrition. We aim to be able to seed fund small nutrition projects through EWENA funding.

Within our members area is an area for our members to network. We also facilitate networking through our events and the EWEN conference
